Njihova  Lancia Delta S4 sletjela je sa staze u provaliju sedam kilometara nakon  starta ispita i gotovo trenutno se zapalila &#8211; za dvojicu automobilista  nije bilo spasa. Toivonenu nije bilo ni 30 godina, jo\u0161 uvijek je bio  zvijezda u usponu i mnogi su mu predvi\u0111ali sjajnu karijeru. Za mladog  Finca govorilo se da je jedan od rijetkih koji su sposobni ukrotiti i  potpuno kontrolirati raspame\u0107ene strojeve grupe B.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bellamacchina.net\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/toivonengdmg9.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2420\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bellamacchina.net\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/toivonengdmg9.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"479\" height=\"508\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bellamacchina.net\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/toivonengdmg9.jpg 479w, https:\/\/www.bellamacchina.net\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/toivonengdmg9-282x300.jpg 282w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 479px) 100vw, 479px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tokom karijere Toivonen je nastupao za nekoliko tvorni\u010dkih ekipa; u  Talbotu je gradio znanje od 1980. do 1981., potom je pre\u0161ao u Opel za  koji nastupa sljede\u0107e dvije godine. Porscheu se pridru\u017eio 1984. godine, a  godinu dana kasnije sti\u017ee u Lanciju.<\/p>\n<p>Za Finca se za \u017eivota govorilo da je jedan od najve\u0107ih voza\u010da svih  vremena, podjednako brz na asfaltu i makadamu, ali i na kru\u017enim stazama.  Eddie Jordan svojevremeno ga je usporedio sa Ayrtonom Sennom i bio je  uvjeren da bi Toivonen zasigurno bio sposoban pobje\u0111ivati i u Formuli 1.<\/p>\n<p>Odlaskom  Henrija Toivonena u historiju je oti\u0161la i grupa B, premda su kriti\u010dari  te odluke tvrdili da je FIA mogla podi\u0107i nivo sigurnosti u  automobilima, posebno u pogledu za\u0161tite spremnika goriva, kao i  pobolj\u0161ati kontrolu gledalaca, a \u0161to bi produ\u017eilo \u017eivotni vijek grupi  B.
