Vi\u0161e od automobila za razonodu, postao je simbol i pravi fenomen u povijesti automobila. Predstavljen na igrali\u0161tu za golf u Deauvilleu, M\u00e9hari, pod nazivom Diane 6 M\u00e9hari, iznenadio je:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 neobi\u010dnim konceptom:skroman automobil, namijenjen radu i zabavi, mogao je jednako dobro prevoziti sijeno ili daske za jedrenje. Modularno\u0161\u0107u i \u0161tedljivo\u0161\u0107u nastavio je filozofiju modela 2 CV, no primjenom najsavremenijih materijala.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 imenom:Mehari je naziv za jednogrbedeve u sjevernoj Africi i Sahari koje su dobri trka\u010di, izdr\u017eljive su islu\u017ee za jahanje<i>. <\/i>To su skromne i izdr\u017eljive \u017eivotinje koje svuda mogu pro\u0107i i prevesti putnike ili robu.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 i originalnim predstavljanjem: kako bi se slikovito do\u010darala njegova svestranost, izlo\u017eene je automobile okru\u017eilo dvadeset manekenki odjevenih u kostime seljanki, vatrogasaca, pustolovki i pliva\u010dica, uskla\u0111enih s bojama karoserije.<\/p>\n<p>Citro\u00ebnM\u00e9hari, kojeg je oblikovao Roland de LaPoype, bio je i inovativan: karoserija je bila u cijelosti izra\u0111ena od obojene plastike ABS (posebna vrsta plastike). Taj je novi lagani materijal mogao poprimiti bilo kakav oblik i biti vrlo jarkih boja. Druga je osobitost tog modela bila to \u0161to je bio otvoren iznad bo\u010dne linije karoserije, \u010dak i u nivou vjetrobrana koji se preklapao na poklopac motora.<\/p>\n<p>Zahvaljuju\u0107i visokoj \u0161asiji i plasti\u010dnoj karoseriji, Citro\u00ebnM\u00e9harije bio nezaustavljiv, posebno u\u00a0 verziji 4&#215;4 lansiranoj 1979. godine, koja se mogla uspeti uzbrdicama nagiba do 60 posto. Tako je ponudio dotad nevi\u0111enu slobodu.<\/p>\n<p>Citro\u00ebnM\u00e9hari odu\u0161evljava.Bio je zvijezda na filmskom platnu (<i>\u017dandar iz Saint-Tropeza<\/i>) i na svjetskim cestama (utrka Li\u00e8ge \u2013 Dakar \u2013 Li\u00e8ge 1969., utrka Paris \u2013 Kaboul \u2013 Paris 1970., utrka Paris \u2013 Pers\u00e9polis \u2013 Paris 1971., medicinska pomo\u0107 u Dakaru 1980. itd.) \u010cak je postao vjerni partner francuske vojske i \u017eandarmerije jer je zbog male mase i lako\u0107e kretanja bio pogodan za spu\u0161tanje padobranom.<\/p>\n<p>U svojih devetnaest godina postojanja, M\u00e9hari je imao samo dvije posebneserije lansirane 1983.: M\u00e9hariPlage (\u0160panjolska) i, poznatiju, M\u00e9hari Azur (Francuska, Italija i Portugal), plavo-bijelu seriju (vrata, prednja maska, platneni krov, rubovi svjetala bili su plavi) sa sjedalima presvu\u010denim frotirom s plavo-bijelim prugama. Ostali modeli nadahnuti istom filozofijom tako\u0111ersu bili objedinjeni pod markom Citroen, poput Baby-Brousse, Pony, Dalat i FAF.<\/p>\n<p>S vi\u0161e od 150.000 primjeraka proizvedenih izme\u0111u 1968. i 1987. godine, Citroen M\u00e9harijo\u0161 je i danas pravi fenomen u automobilskoj historiji. Povodom proslave njegovih 45 godina, Citroen je jedan prostor izlo\u017ebenog salona C42 u Parizu posvetio isklju\u010divo ovom modelu.
